I've begun asking questions of the semi-writing oriented group, One Voice, to get some outside thoughts and opinions on writing. Below are archives of the responses.
What do you think of darkfic? (Specifically, I mean fic that doesn't have that "Disney" feel to it, not just angst. Things like Epic [or Keeping It Safe, for that matter] which present a more twisted feel, where you never know who's the backstabber and the boys are capable of doing truly bad things.) If you write them, what's the appeal? If you avoid them, why's that?
What do you think of songfics? What makes for a well- or poorly-written songfic? What kinds of songs do or don't work? And, of course, any recommendations?
